Macintosh OS 9 Setup

Doubleclick the hard drive icon on your computer's desktop.
Doubleclick the Assistants folder in the hard drive window.
You will then see the Internet Setup Assistant icon. Doubleclick this icon.

Introduction

Click "Yes" in answer to the question "Would you like to set up your computer to use the internet?", then click the right arrow to continue.

Select "Yes" in answer to the question "Do you already have an internet account?".
Click the right arrow to continue.

Configuration Name and Connection Type

Type in Internet Montana in the box to name the configuration. Select Modem as how you will be connecting to the Internet.
Click the right arrow to continue.

The modem settings box should list the modem that is installed on your computer.
Tone should be selected for the phone line type.

Configuration Information

In the box provided, enter the telephone number for your area.

Type your username and password in the boxes provided. Click the right arrow to continue.

PPP Connect Scripts

Select" No", and click the right arrow to continue

IP Address

Select "No", and click the right arrow to continue.

Domain Name Servers

In the box labeled "What is the DNS address for this configuration, enter: 204.212.40.2
What is the Domain Name (or hostname) for this configuration? Enter imt.net
This must be typed all in lowercase. Click the right arrow to continue.

Email Address and Password

Enter your email address and password in the boxes provided. Click the right arrow to continue.

Enter your email address in the box provided.
Type imt.net in the lower box for e-mail or SMTP host. Click the right arrow to continue.

Newsgroup Host Computer

Enter news.imt.net in the box labeled NNTP (Network News Transfer Protocol) host. This must be typed in lowercase. Click the right arrow to continue.

Make sure the Connect when finished box is checked, then click the button labeled Go ahead.
