NOTE:
If you already have a browser program installed on your computer, the first two disks in the setup pack are not required to get on the internet.
After you have finished setting up the first two disks, put Disk 3 into the floppy drive. Copy the FreePPP folder from the installation disk to your desktop or hard drive. Eject the disk. Double click on the FreePPP 2.6.2 folder. Double click on the Install FreePPP 2.6.2 icon. Click Next when prompted and select Easy Install from the installation options. Follow the onscreen instructions. After the installation is completed, restart your computer by clicking the Restart button.
Click on the telephone (in the upper right hand corner of the screen) and choose Open FreePPP setup.
Click the small triangle in the lower left-hand corner of the window. Your window will look just like the illustration to the right.
Click the Modems tab then click the Edit button. In the Modem Config Name box, type: Internet Montana .
You will need to specify the settings for your modem. For the modem initialization string, you should use either ATZ, at&f&c1&d0, or the string recommended by your modem manufacturer.
Click OK to return to the main screen.
In most cases, the flow control should be CTS&RTS(DTR).
Set the port speed to your modem speed:
On the Accounts tab, you can configure your dialing profiles. Click Edit to create an Internet Montana profile. A three tabbed window will allow you to configure account and dialup options.
Enter the information so that it looks like the illustration on the right.
Enter your username.
i.e. John Doe has a username of jdoe.
Enter in your password. Click the Ok button to go
back to the previous menu.

Click the Dialup tab. Enter the area code 406 and the appropriate access number in the Main number boxes. NOTE: To disable call-waiting, you must precede the access number with *70 . Leave the Alternate boxes blank. [an error occurred while processing this directive]
Click the Options tab. Fill in the information as it appears in the illustration, then click OK. Your software is now configured. Click the Connect button to establish your connection.
